Ana Machado Silva

Ana Machado Silva is Area Manager for R&D and Innovation at MC, a founding member of EIT Manufacturing and the largest food retailer in Portugal. She coordinates a team dedicated to the development of collaborative R&D and Innovation projects in the areas of foodtech, sustainability and energy transition. Several of those projects have tackled the challenges of reducing the carbon footprint of the company, as well as promoting circular economy and waste reduction through science, innovative approaches, and value-chain collaboration initiatives.
